ADOPTION PROCESS

Our adoption process involves the following:

1. Fill out our adoption questionnaire

2. Application Reviewal– Our kennel manager and trainer will review your application within a few days and will make suggestions of dogs that could potentially be a suitable match for yourself and your lifestyle. We use the application to help us choose a dog that is the right fit for your family and needs to be completed before your appointment because of this reason. Before adopting one of our dogs, we will need to sight photo ID, rental permission (if you rent) and have all household members (and dogs) meet the dog before adoption can take place.

3. Meet & Greet!-Once we have matched you with a potential companion, we will contact you to come in for a meet and greet in one of our yards. It is important that every member in your household meets the dog(s) to ensure they all get along. If you already own a dog, then we will need to book in a match up to ensure they are compatible. We will need to sight your dog’s vaccination and sterilisation records. Choosing a dog with the right temperament and energy levels to suit you and your dog’s needs is important for a successful match up. Our qualified trainer will help you with this process.

4. It is possible that when you are contacted by K9 staff the dog that you are interested in may have been adopted. We do have plenty of other dogs so there is still a good chance we will have a suitable dog for you! If not right now, maybe soon. All applications are kept on file for 6 months.

Our adoption questionnaire is used to help you choose a dog that would be suited to you, your home, and your lifestyle. The adoption questionnaire must be filled out before viewing the dogs. Before adopting any dog we will need to see that you have rental permission if you rent.
