K9 Rescue Group rely heavily on our incredibly valuable volunteers to the dogs in our care are given the TLC they deserve. Potential Volunteers are required to attend an induction and will receive continued training. The task of helping animals is not always an easy one, but it is an incredibly rewarding experience. We have many different volunteer roles available, including:
Dog Handling
- Walking the dogs in care and providing them with physical and mental stimulation/enrichment.
- Provide the dogs in care socialisation to set them up for success in their future home.
Kennel Hand
- Cleaning and maintaining kennels to ensure a safe and healthy environment.
- Preparing and cooking of dog’s meals and treats.
Office Admin
- Provide administrative support to our team, including data entry and answering phones.
- Being the forefront of K9 Rescue Group providing excellent service to the public and assisting in the day to day running of the organisation.
Fundraising Team
- Assisting and planning fundraising events.
- Helping to raise vital funding to support dogs medical bills and day to day costs.
Gardening
- Maintaining the gardens and exercise areas to provide a safe working environment for personnel and dogs.
- Keeping outdoor areas tidy and safe for dogs and personnel.
If you’re interested in volunteering with us, please submit our online volunteer application form! Following this, you will be contacted by our Volunteer Coordinator and notified of the next induction date.
Please note if you require K9 Rescue Group to organise a Police Clearance on your behalf, there will be a $20 fee on the date of your induction. Once you have completed your training shifts you can then purchase a K9 uniform.
