Adoption Process
If you would like to adopt one of our lovely dogs, please note the following process:
- Fill out our Adoption Questionnaire The K9 Rescue Group Adoption Questionnaire can be completed online or in our office . If you do choose to complete online, please print and bring a copy with you. Alternatively, you can email us your completed form beforehand at adoptions@k9dogrescue.org.au.
This questionnaire assists us in finding a companion best suited to you, your home and your lifestyle and needs to be completed prior to viewing our dogs.
Please bring along your photo ID and Rental Permission from your Landlord (if applicable). - Call us on 9581 9005 during office hours to make an appointment to view our dogs Our office is open 10:00am to 3:00pm weekdays and 1:00pm to 5:00pm weekends (please note we are closed Thursdays).
- Doggie Meet and Greet Once you have found a potential companion you can have a meet up in one of our yards.
All members of the household are required to come in for a meet and greet to ensure that everyone gets along. Our dogs can be severely impacted behaviourally if they are returned to the kennels so meeting all members of your household gives our dogs the best chance at finding their forever family.
If you currently have a dog, we will also need to do a match up with your dog and the dog you are interested in. Before we do this, we will need to sight your dog’s vaccination records.
We suggest you come down and meet the dog yourself first and then organise a time to bring your dog down to do a match up.
Choosing a dog with the right temperament and energy level to suit you and your dog’s needs is important for a successful match up. Our qualified trainer will assist with this process.
Please call us on 9581 9005 to book an appointment for viewing. If there is a particular dog you are interested in, please let our friendly staff know so they can ensure they are still available and at the premises (as they may be in foster care). At K9 Rescue Group, we are dedicated to the successful re-homing of our residents and seeing them embark on the next phase of their journey…
because every dog deserves a place to call home.
